The Cozy Bae: A Calm Corner for Cozy Vibes & Hygge Hearts

Welcome to The Cozy Bae- a Calm Corner for Cozy Vibes & Hygge Hearts

Welcome to The Cozy Bae—a calm corner for cozy vibes and hygge hearts! I’m so glad you’re here, and hope you’ll join me on this journey of coziness and gentle(r) living.

The idea of The Cozy Bae came to me at a time of intense stress, worry and uncertainty. Imagining what it could be was such a balm, implementing it became a sort of refuge in the storm of life’s chaos. I hope it provides you with the same feeling.

The World of The Cozy Bae

Coming soon: The Cozy Bae Channel- a place where calm, cozy stories wrap around you like a warm hug.

You’ll find all kinds of cozy content at The Cozy Bae—from cozy books (more on that in another article) and my upcoming YouTube channel, to hygge merch, cozy tips and so much more. More than just being another site to visit, I hope The Cozy Bae offers you a reason to slow down, appreciate the little things in life and a little bit of joy. Even now. Especially now.

Hygge-ing Our Way to Better Health

For me, The Cozy Bae is also a deeply personal call to focus on my health and wellbeing. A little before creating The Cozy Bae, I’d received some medical news that demanded lifestyle changes. As a woman used to being on-the-go and working hard, I often viewed rest and going “easy” on myself as optional. Turns out, there are consequences to that. In getting less sleep, I increased my stress and cortisol levels. In pushing myself to the limits, I wore my body and mind down to burn out levels. Fortunately, our bodies are incredibly resilient and adaptive machines. And just as I learned to value certain behaviors and habits, I can unlearn them, too. And if any of this resonates, know that you can do the same. Stick around with me and we'll figure it out together.

Both cozy and hygge as a lifestyle focus on a mindset that I think has tremendous benefits. Hygge (sounds like “hoo-gah”) originated in Norwegian and Danish cultures to help people make it through those tough Scandinavian winters. It promotes self-care, warm atmospheres, connections, contentment, mindfulness, and slowing down to appreciate life. Similarly, cozy as a lifestyle focuses on simplicity, comfort, joy and appreciating the little things in life. Taking time to savor the life I’m fortunate to have, to notice the everyday moments and miracles, to connect deeply with myself and my community gives me a much-needed anchor in what these days feels like a sea full of choppy waves.

But that’s enough rambling! It’s time I practice what I preach and make sure I get enough sleep (puffy eyes are very un-cozy).

Thanks for being here, and wherever you are, I wish you a lovely day and evening. And as always, stay cozy.
